Method
- Brew 1 cup of strong espresso or cold brew coffee and let it cool to room temperature. Cold coffee matters because pouring hot liquid into a blender with ice can create dangerous steam and weaken your ice texture.
- Pour the cooled coffee into your Ninja blender or high-powered blender.
- Add 1/2 cup of whole milk or your preferred milk substitute to the blender.
- Measure out 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk and pour it into the blender.
- If using vanilla extract or almond extract, add 2 tablespoons now.
- Add 1 cup of ice cubes to the blender.
- Blend on high speed for 45 to 60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy with no visible ice chunks.
- Pour the frappe into a tall glass and serve immediately with a straw or spoon.
Notes
Use cold or room-temperature coffee, never hot coffee. Blend for at least 45 seconds for the signature creamy texture. Make your coffee extra strong by using espresso or double-brewed coffee. Freeze leftover strong coffee in ice cube trays and use those frozen cubes instead of regular ice for a frappe that never gets watered down. Serve immediately after blending because the ice melts quickly. Chill your glass for 5 minutes in the freezer before pouring to keep your frappe cold and thick for longer.
