Ingredients
  

Main
  • 8 ounces hot water 160-180°F
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons raw honey
  • 1 pinch sea salt optional
  • Juice of 1 lemon optional
  • 1 inch fresh ginger sliced thin (optional)
  • 1 cinnamon stick optional
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper optional

Method
 

  1. Boil 8 ounces of water in a kettle or pot until it reaches 212°F, then remove from heat and let it cool for 2 minutes to reach 160-180°F.
  2. Pour the hot water into a mug or tea cup.
  3. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of raw honey to the water and stir for about 30 seconds until fully dissolved.
  4. Add a pinch of sea salt and stir to enhance the honey’s flavor.
  5. If using, squeeze the juice of 1 lemon into the tea and stir well.
  6. Add any optional aromatics such as sliced ginger, a cinnamon stick, or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  7. Allow the tea to steep for 3 to 5 minutes to infuse flavors from any added spices or herbs.
  8. Taste the tea and adjust sweetness or lemon juice as desired by adding more honey or hot water.
