Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2.5 ounces premium gin
  • 0.5 ounce dry vermouth
  • Ice plenty for proper chilling
  • Lemon twist or cocktail olive for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Bar spoon or long-handled spoon
  • Cocktail strainer (julep or Hawthorne)
  • Jigger for measuring
  • Martini glass or coupe glass
  • Cutting board and paring knife

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Place a martini glass in the freezer and chill for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Step 2: Fill your mixing glass or cocktail shaker with plenty of fresh ice.
  3. Step 3: Measure 2.5 ounces of premium gin with a jigger and pour it over the ice.
  4. Step 4: Add 0.5 ounce of dry vermouth to the gin in the mixing glass.
  5. Step 5: Stir the mixture smoothly with a bar spoon for 30 seconds.
  6. Step 6: Use a cocktail strainer to strain the chilled mixture into the pre-chilled martini glass.
  7. Step 7: Prepare your garnish by expressing a lemon twist over the drink or adding a cocktail olive.
  8. Step 8: Serve immediately and enjoy while properly chilled.
