  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee cooled
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup packed ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons sweetener sugar, honey, or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream for topping optional
  • Cocoa powder or cinnamon for garnish optional

  • Blender or immersion blender with jug
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Tall glasses
  • Drinking straws
  • Ice cube tray or access to ice

Method
 

  1. Make 1 cup of strong brewed coffee using your preferred method, then let it cool to room temperature or chill in the refrigerator.
  2. Place the blender on a stable surface and set out two tall glasses.
  3. Pour the cooled coffee into the blender first.
  4. Add 1 cup of whole milk to the blender.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons of your chosen sweetener to the blender.
  6. Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the blender.
  7. Add 1 cup of packed ice cubes on top of the liquid ingredients.
  8. Secure the lid and blend on high speed for 45 to 60 seconds, stopping to shake the blender if needed, until smooth and thick.
  9. Pour the milkshake evenly into two tall glasses.
  10. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cocoa powder or cinnamon if desired, then serve immediately.

Notes

Freeze your coffee in ice cube trays the night before to prevent dilution and intensify the flavor.
