Ingredients
  

Main
  • 0.5 ounces Creme de Almond liqueur creates the red/pink bottom layer
  • 0.5 ounces Coconut Rum creates the middle yellow/golden layer
  • 0.5 ounces Grenadine syrup creates the deep red base, poured first
  • Ice cubes for chilling the glass, optional but recommended

Equipment

  • 1.5 ounce shot glass
  • Jigger (for accurate measuring)
  • Bar spoon or long thin spoon
  • Small mixing bottle or container (optional)
  • Pouring spout (helpful but not essential)

Method
 

  1. Fill the shot glass with ice cubes and let it chill for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  2. Measure 0.5 ounces of grenadine syrup and slowly pour it into the center of the chilled shot glass.
  3. Measure 0.5 ounces of creme de almond liqueur and layer it over the grenadine by gently pouring it over the back of a spoon.
  4. Measure 0.5 ounces of coconut rum and layer it over the creme de almond by gently pouring it over the back of a spoon.
  5. Let the layers settle for 10 to 15 seconds before serving to ensure three distinct colors.

Notes

Serve immediately after layering to enjoy the distinct three-color effect.
