Method
- Heat 8 ounces of filtered water to 160 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit in a kettle or pot.
- Place 1 teaspoon of loose-leaf white tea into a tea infuser or strainer.
- Warm your mug by pouring a small amount of hot water into it, let sit for 10 seconds, then discard the water.
- Pour the heated water over the tea leaves and steep for 3 minutes.
- Remove the tea infuser or strain the tea leaves from your mug.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of honey or your preferred sweetener while the tea is hot.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice if desired.
- Garnish with 2 to 3 fresh mint leaves or add ice cubes for an iced version before serving.
Notes
Use water below boiling and steep for exactly 3 minutes to preserve delicate flavor. Adjust sweetener and citrus to taste.
