Ingredients

Main
  • 1.5 ounces 45 milliliters vodka
  • 1 ounce 30 milliliters Baileys Irish Cream
  • 2 to 3 ounces 60 to 90 milliliters whole milk or heavy cream
  • 4 to 5 ice cubes
  • Optional garnish: cocoa powder cinnamon stick, or chocolate shavings

Equipment

  • Highball or rocks glass
  • Cocktail jigger or measuring spoon
  • Bar spoon or long cocktail spoon
  • Ice cubes
  • Ice bucket or ice maker
  • Bottle opener or cap remover
  • Cutting board and knife (optional for garnish)

Method

  1. Fill a highball or rocks glass with 4 to 5 ice cubes.
  2. Measure and pour 1.5 ounces (45 milliliters) of vodka over the ice.
  3. Add 1 ounce (30 milliliters) of Baileys Irish Cream to the glass.
  4. Slowly pour 2 to 3 ounces (60 to 90 milliliters) of cold whole milk or heavy cream into the glass.
  5. Stir gently with a bar spoon using about ten to twelve rotations to combine the ingredients without breaking the cream.
  6. Taste and adjust: add more milk if too strong or a splash of vodka if too creamy.
  7. Dust the top with cocoa powder or add a cinnamon stick or chocolate shavings if desired.
  8. Serve immediately while chilled for the best creamy texture.

Notes

Chill the glass in the freezer for five minutes before assembling for optimal temperature. Serve immediately for the creamiest texture.
