Ingredients
  

Main
  • 0.75 ounces coffee liqueur such as Kahlua
  • 0.75 ounces Irish whiskey such as Jameson or Bushmills
  • 0.5 ounces Irish cream liqueur such as Baileys

Equipment

  • shot glass or small rocks glass
  • Jigger or measuring spoon
  • Bar spoon
  • small pitcher or pour spout bottle
  • cocktail napkin

Method
 

  1. Chill the shot glass or small rocks glass in the freezer for 1 to 2 minutes.
  2. Measure and pour 0.75 ounces of coffee liqueur into the bottom of the chilled glass.
  3. Hold a bar spoon just above the coffee liqueur layer and slowly pour 0.75 ounces of Irish whiskey over the spoon to layer it on top.
  4. Position the bar spoon with its curved side down against the whiskey layer to prepare for the next pour.
  5. Measure and slowly pour 0.5 ounces of Irish cream liqueur over the back of the bar spoon to create the top layer.
  6. Let the drink sit undisturbed for 10 to 15 seconds so the layers fully settle.
  7. Serve the layered cocktail without stirring and enjoy by sipping slowly or shooting quickly, as preferred.

Notes

Serve immediately to preserve distinct layers. Use quality ingredients and pour slowly for best results.
