Method
- Measure 0.75 ounces of rye whiskey into a mixing glass.
- Add 0.75 ounces of cognac to the mixing glass.
- Pour in 0.75 ounces of sweet vermouth.
- Add 0.5 ounce of Benedictine liqueur.
- Add 2 dashes of Peychaud's bitters and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
- Fill the mixing glass three-quarters full with ice.
- Stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
- Place a large ice cube into a rocks glass.
- Strain the chilled cocktail into the rocks glass over the ice cube.
- Express a lemon twist over the drink and drop it into the glass as garnish.
