Venetian Spritz

A refreshing, bittersweet Italian aperitivo cocktail made with Prosecco, Aperol or Campari, and soda water.

Ingredients
  

Main
  • 3 ounces Prosecco chilled
  • 1.5 ounces Aperol or Campari
  • 1 ounce soda water chilled
  • 4 to 5 large ice cubes
  • 1 thin orange slice for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail glass or wine glass
  • Jigger or measuring shot glass
  • Bar spoon or long-handled spoon
  • Cutting board and sharp knife
  • Cocktail pick or small fork

Method
 

  1. Chill your glass in the freezer for at least 2 minutes.
  2. Fill the chilled glass with 4 to 5 large ice cubes.
  3. Pour 1.5 ounces of Aperol or Campari over the ice.
  4. Add 3 ounces of chilled Prosecco to the glass.
  5. Top with 1 ounce of chilled soda water.
  6. Stir gently with a bar spoon for about 5 seconds.
  7. Cut a thin wheel of orange (about 1/4 inch thick) and slit it from center to edge.
  8. Garnish the drink with the orange slice and serve immediately.

Notes

Keep ingredients ice-cold and serve immediately to maintain carbonation.
