Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1 oz silver or blanco tequila
  • 0.5 oz hot sauce Valentina, Tabasco, or preferred
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.25 oz chamoy sauce optional
  • Pinch of salt optional
  • Ice optional

Equipment

  • Shot glass (1.5 oz)
  • Jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Cocktail shaker (optional)

Method
 

  1. Chill the shot glass in the freezer for at least 2 minutes.
  2. Pour 1 oz tequila into the chilled glass using a jigger.
  3. Add 0.5 oz hot sauce to the glass.
  4. Add 0.5 oz fresh lime juice to the glass.
  5. Add 0.25 oz chamoy sauce if using.
  6. Stir gently with a bar spoon 3 to 4 times.
  7. If desired, rim the glass with salt by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it in salt.
  8. Serve and drink the shot in one smooth motion, optionally following with a lime wedge chaser.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice and chill the shot glass for optimal flavor and a smoother experience.
