- Measure out turmeric powder, ground cinnamon, black pepper, and sea salt and set aside.
- Pour 1.5 cups of water into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until it reaches a gentle simmer (about 5 minutes).
- Add the turmeric powder, ground cinnamon, and sea salt to the simmering water and whisk for 30 seconds to dissolve clumps.
- Add the grated fresh ginger to the saucepan and let it simmer for 3 to 4 minutes to infuse flavor.
- Stir in the black pepper and continue simmering for 1 minute to preserve its volatile oils.
- Slowly pour in the coconut milk while stirring constantly and heat for 2 minutes without bringing it to a boil.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher or directly into mugs for a smooth texture.
- Divide the tonic between two mugs and add 1 to 2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup to each, stirring to taste.
