Ingredients

Main
  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks about half a medium pineapple, or frozen
  • 1 cup coconut milk or whole milk, almond milk, or oat milk
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or regular yogurt for less protein
  • 1/2 banana frozen for creamier texture
  • 1 tablespoon honey optional, if you want extra sweetness
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract optional but recommended
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes if using fresh pineapple instead of frozen

Equipment

  • High-powered blender
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Two tall glasses
  • Spoon or smoothie straw

Method

  1. Slice and core half a medium pineapple into roughly one-inch chunks; freeze the pineapple chunks for at least two hours if using fresh fruit.
  2. Peel and slice half a banana into half-inch rounds; freeze the banana slices for at least two hours for a creamier texture.
  3. Gather all ingredients and equipment on the counter by your blender to streamline the process.
  4. Pour 1 cup of coconut milk into the blender first to ensure smooth blending.
  5. Add 1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt on top of the milk for creaminess and protein.
  6. Add the frozen pineapple chunks and frozen banana slices to the blender.
  7. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon honey if using, for extra flavor and sweetness.
  8. Blend on low speed for 5 seconds, then increase to high speed and blend for 45 to 60 seconds until completely smooth.
  9. Check the consistency; if too thick, add an extra splash of milk and blend briefly; if too thin, add a few ice cubes. Pour into two tall glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

Freeze pineapple chunks and banana slices ahead of time to ensure a thick, creamy smoothie without diluting ice; serve immediately after blending for the best flavor and texture.
