  • 4 oz Irish whiskey like Jameson
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Optional: cocoa powder for garnish

Equipment

  • Coffee maker or French press
  • Heat-resistant glass mugs or Irish coffee glasses
  • Stirring spoon
  • Measuring spoons
  • Whisk or electric mixer (optional for cream)

Method

  1. Start by brewing your coffee using your favorite method.
  2. Warm your glass mugs by rinsing them with hot water.
  3. Place 1 tablespoon of brown sugar in each warmed mug.
  4. Fill each mug with the hot brewed coffee, leaving some space at the top for cream. Stir well to dissolve the sugar completely.
  5. Pour 2 ounces of Irish whiskey into each mug.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk the heavy cream until it thickens slightly but is still pourable.
  7. Carefully spoon the whipped cream over the coffee mixture.
  8. If desired, sprinkle cocoa powder on top and serve immediately.
