Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 ounces premium vodka
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 ounces simple syrup
  • 3 to 4 ounces soda water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon wheel or cherry for garnish
  • Dash of Angostura bitters optional

Equipment

  • Highball glass
  • Jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer

Method
 

  1. Fill a highball glass with fresh ice cubes to chill the glass.
  2. Squeeze fresh lemon juice using a citrus juicer until you have 1 ounce.
  3. Measure 2 ounces of premium vodka with a jigger and pour it over the ice.
  4. Add 0.5 ounces of simple syrup to the glass.
  5. Stir the vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup together with a bar spoon for 10 seconds.
  6. Slowly top the drink with 3 to 4 ounces of cold soda water to preserve the fizz.
  7. Give the cocktail a gentle stir to combine all ingredients.
  8. Garnish with a lemon wheel or a cherry and add a dash of Angostura bitters if desired before serving immediately.

Notes

Use the coldest soda water and add it last to preserve maximum fizz. Serve immediately for the freshest taste.
