Ingredients

Main
  • 2 ounces premium silver tequila
  • 4 to 6 ounces ginger beer
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wheel or wedge for garnish

Equipment

  • Copper mug or tall glass
  • Jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Citrus juicer or hand juicer
  • Knife
  • Cocktail strainer (optional)

Method

  1. Fill your copper mug or tall glass with ice and let it sit for 1 minute to chill the glass.
  2. Measure 2 ounces of silver tequila with a jigger and pour into the chilled glass.
  3. Cut a lime in half and juice 1/2 ounce of fresh lime juice directly into the glass.
  4. Pour 4 to 6 ounces of ice-cold ginger beer into the glass, adjusting the amount for desired strength.
  5. Stir gently with a bar spoon for about 10 seconds to combine ingredients without losing carbonation.
  6. Top off with fresh ice cubes if needed to keep the drink properly cold.
  7. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim of the glass or drop into the drink.
  8. Taste the cocktail and adjust by adding more ginger beer, lime juice, or tequila as desired.

Notes

Keep tequila and ginger beer chilled before serving and assemble each drink just before serving for best carbonation and flavor.
