Ingredients

Main
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce triple sec
  • Ice
  • Salt for rimming optional
  • Fresh lemon slices for garnish

Equipment

  • Shaker
  • Strainer
  • Jigger
  • Citrus juicer
  • Glasses for serving

Method

  1. Run a lemon wedge around the rim of each glass and dip into salt for a salted rim, if desired.
  2. Use a citrus juicer to extract fresh lemon juice, yielding about 1 ounce per serving.
  3. Measure tequila, lemon juice, simple syrup, and triple sec using a jigger and pour into a shaker.
  4. Fill the shaker halfway with ice to chill the cocktail mixture.
  5. Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  6. Strain the mixture into the prepared glasses, leaving ice and pulp behind.
  7. Garnish each glass with a fresh lemon slice on the rim.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your tequila lemon drop while cold.

Notes

Make sure to use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor; agave syrup can be substituted for simple syrup.
