Ingredients

Main
  • 2 cups milk dairy or plant-based
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon dried lavender
  • 1 pinch salt

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Glass or mug for serving

Method

  1. Heat the milk: In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk until it's steaming but not boiling, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add sweetener: Stir in the honey or maple syrup until fully dissolved.
  3. Mix in vanilla: Add the vanilla extract and stir well.
  4. Incorporate spices: Add ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt to the pot and stir to combine.
  5. Add dried lavender: Mix in the dried lavender and let it infuse for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Whisk until frothy: Use a whisk to froth the mixture gently as it heats, about 1 minute.
  7. Strain the mixture: Pour the moon milk through a fine mesh strainer into your serving glass to remove any lavender bits.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Serve warm immediately, or let it cool and pour over ice for an iced version.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle a little cinnamon on top before serving.
