Ingredients

Main
  • 2 ounces silver tequila
  • 1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice
  • 0.5 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 ounce strawberry pucker or strawberry liqueur
  • 0.5 ounce simple syrup
  • 3 to 4 fresh strawberries sliced
  • Ice cubes
  • Tajin or salt for rimming (optional)
  • Fresh grapefruit slice for garnish
  • Fresh strawberry for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mason jar
  • Jigger for measuring spirits
  • Bar spoon or regular spoon for stirring
  • Highball or rocks glass
  • Strainer (fine mesh or built-in shaker strainer)
  • Knife for cutting garnish
  • Cutting board
  • Muddler or back of a spoon

Method

  1. Fill a highball or rocks glass with ice cubes and set aside to keep cold.
  2. Place the sliced fresh strawberries in a cocktail shaker and gently muddle with the back of a spoon 3 to 4 times to release juice.
  3. Pour 2 ounces silver tequila into the shaker with the muddled strawberries.
  4. Add 1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice and 0.5 ounce fresh lime juice to the shaker.
  5. Pour in 0.5 ounce strawberry pucker or strawberry liqueur and 0.5 ounce simple syrup.
  6. Fill the shaker three-quarters full with ice, close tightly, and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until the outside is frosty.
  7. Use a strainer to pour the cocktail into the prepared ice-filled glass, leaving strawberry pulp behind.
  8. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and a slice of grapefruit on the rim, then serve immediately.

Notes

Rim the glass with Tajin for an extra savory kick and serve immediately for best flavor.
