Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 2 bags black tea or your preferred tea
  • 1 cup milk dairy or non-dairy

Method
 

  1. Wash and hull the strawberries, ensuring they are clean and ready for blending (about 2 minutes).
  2. Blend the strawberries with 1 tablespoon of sugar until smooth (about 1 minute) to make the puree.
  3. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat in a saucepan (about 5 minutes).
  4. Add 2 tea bags to the boiling water and steep for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on desired strength.
  5. Remove the tea bags and stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon of sugar until fully dissolved (about 1 minute).
  6. Pour the strawberry puree into the sweetened tea and mix thoroughly (about 30 seconds).
  7. Stir in 1 cup of milk until the mixture is smooth and creamy (about 30 seconds).
  8. Pour the strawberry milk tea into serving glasses and serve warm or chill over ice and garnish as desired.

Notes

For an extra refreshing twist, add ice cubes or garnish with fresh mint leaves.
