Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup coarsely ground coffee beans
  • 4 cups cold water

Equipment

  • Large jar or pitcher
  • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
  • Coffee grinder (if using whole beans)
  • Measuring cup
  • Spoon for stirring

Method

  1. In a large jar or pitcher, add 1 cup of coarsely ground coffee beans and pour in 4 cups of cold water. Stir gently to ensure all grounds are saturated.
  2. Cover the jar with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for 12 hours to steep.
  3. After steeping, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to separate the cold brew concentrate from the grounds.
  4. Transfer the strained concentrate into a clean jar or pitcher. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  5. To serve, mix equal parts cold brew concentrate and water or milk over ice, adjusting the ratio to your personal taste.
  6. Optional: Add sweeteners, flavored syrups, or spices like cinnamon for extra flavor.
  7. Experiment with different coffee-to-water ratios to find your preferred strength.
  8. Enjoy your homemade cold brew with friends or family.

Notes

Always use coarsely ground coffee and steep for at least 12 hours. Concentrate can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
