Ingredients

Main
  • 1/2 cup Passion Fruit Tea brewed and cooled
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk or milk of choice
  • 1/4 cup strawberry puree or strawberry syrup
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice optional but recommended
  • Ice as much as you like
  • Whipped cream optional for topping

Equipment

  • 16-ounce or 20-ounce clear cup or glass
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Long spoon or stirrer for mixing
  • Straw (optional)

Method

  1. Brew one bag of passion fruit tea in six ounces of hot water and let it steep for 4 to 5 minutes for maximum flavor. Pour the brewed tea into a separate container and refrigerate it for at least 15 minutes, or use pre-made chilled tea to save time.
  2. Fill your cup about three-quarters full with ice, using crushed ice if you have it for better mixing.
  3. Add the cooled passion fruit tea to your ice-filled cup, filling it about halfway.
  4. Pour one-quarter cup of strawberry puree or syrup directly into the cup over the tea.
  5. Use your long spoon to stir the tea and strawberry mixture thoroughly, making sure the strawberry combines evenly with the tea.
  6. Slowly pour the coconut milk into the cup, filling it nearly to the top.
  7. Squeeze one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice into the drink and stir once more to combine.
  8. Give the entire drink a good stir with your spoon to make sure everything is mixed evenly. Take a sip and adjust the sweetness by adding a bit more strawberry syrup if needed, or more coconut milk if it's too sweet.
  9. Add a dollop of whipped cream on top if desired for luxury and presentation.

Notes

Always use cold or room-temperature strawberry puree and coconut milk; warm ingredients will melt your ice and water down the drink. Use full-fat coconut milk from a can rather than the carton version for better creaminess. Don't skip the lemon juice as it prevents the drink from tasting cloying. Make this drink right before you plan to drink it, as sitting for more than 10 minutes allows the ice to melt and dilute everything.
