Main
  • 1 medium frozen banana sliced before freezing
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina powder
  • 3/4 cup almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt non-fat or full-fat
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey optional for extra sweetness
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • Squeeze of fresh lemon juice optional to brighten flavor

Equipment

  • High-power blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Tall glass or smoothie cup
  • Spoon for stirring

Method

  1. Measure and add frozen banana slices and frozen mango chunks into the blender.
  2. Pour in 3/4 cup of almond milk or your chosen milk over the frozen fruit.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon of spirulina powder to the blender.
  4. Scoop in 1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt on top of the other ingredients.
  5. If desired, drizzle 1 tablespoon of raw honey for extra sweetness.
  6. Add 1/2 cup of ice cubes to the blender.
  7. Blend on high speed for 45 to 60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
  8. Stop and check consistency; if too thick, add a splash more milk and blend for 10 more seconds.
  9. Optionally squeeze in fresh lemon juice and pulse once more to brighten the flavor.
  10. Pour the smoothie into a glass and serve immediately while it’s cold and fluffy.

Notes
