Ingredients

Main
  • 2 shots espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 8 ounces whole milk or milk of choice
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
  • 1 tablespoon toasted marshmallow syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon graham cracker crumbs for rimming and garnish
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • 1 mini marshmallow for garnish optional but recommended

Equipment

  • Espresso machine or strong coffee maker
  • Small saucepan for heating milk and syrup
  • Milk frother or whisk
  • Tall coffee mug or latte glass
  • Measuring spoons and cups
  • Spoon for stirring

Method

  1. Moisten the rim of a tall coffee mug with honey or corn syrup, then press into graham cracker crumbs to coat.
  2. Brew 2 shots of hot espresso using an espresso machine or pour 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee into the prepared mug.
  3. Stir in 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup into the hot espresso until fully dissolved, about 15 seconds.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon of toasted marshmallow syrup and stir well for 10 seconds.
  5. Heat 8 ounces of milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming (about 3 minutes at 160°F) and not boiling.
  6. Froth the heated milk using a milk frother or whisk to create microfoam.
  7. Slowly pour the frothed milk into the espresso and syrup mixture, holding back the foam with a spoon, then spoon the remaining foam on top.
  8. Top with whipped cream and place a mini marshmallow on top as garnish, then serve immediately.

Notes

Serve immediately while the foam is still fluffy and adjust syrup amounts to taste.
