Ingredients

Main
  • 1 bottle of red wine 750 ml, Spanish wine like Tempranillo works well
  • 1/4 cup of brandy
  • 1/4 cup of orange liqueur like Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • 1 orange sliced
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 1 lime sliced
  • 1 apple cored and diced
  • 2 cups of soda water or lemon-lime soda for sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar optional, to taste

Equipment

  • Large pitcher
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Start by washing all your fruits thoroughly.
  2. Slice the orange, lemon, and lime into thin rounds. Dice the apple into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine the sliced fruits, red wine, brandy, and orange liqueur.
  4. Let this mixture sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. If you prefer a sweeter sangria, stir in the sugar until dissolved.
  6. Refrigerate the sangria for at least one hour.
  7. Right before serving, pour in the soda water or lemon-lime soda.
  8. Fill glasses with ice and pour the sangria over.
  9. Garnish with additional fruit slices and enjoy!

Notes

For the best flavor, let your sangria chill overnight. This allows the fruit to infuse the wine beautifully.
