Ingredients
  

Main
  • 4 ounces ginger ale
  • 4 ounces lemon-lime soda e.g., Sprite or 7-Up
  • 0.5 ounce grenadine syrup 1 tablespoon
  • 6 to 8 ice cubes
  • 1 maraschino cherry for garnish
  • 1 thin orange slice optional

Equipment

  • Tall glass (8 to 12 ounces)
  • Measuring cup or jigger
  • Tall bar spoon or long mixing spoon
  • Ice maker or ice from freezer
  • Cocktail garnish pick or small skewer

Method
 

  1. Fill a tall glass three-quarters full with ice cubes.
  2. Pour 4 ounces of ginger ale slowly over the ice.
  3. Add 4 ounces of lemon-lime soda into the glass.
  4. Measure 0.5 ounce (1 tablespoon) of grenadine syrup.
  5. Slowly pour the grenadine down the inside of the glass to create layers.
  6. Gently stir the drink for about 10 seconds to combine without losing carbonation.
  7. Skewer or drop a maraschino cherry into the glass as garnish.
  8. Optionally, slide a thin orange slice onto the rim or float it on top.
  9. Serve immediately while cold and fizzy for the best flavor.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh; chill your glass beforehand and use filtered ice for optimal taste and presentation.
