- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the sahlab powder and 2 tablespoons of milk to form a smooth paste, preventing lumps.
- Add the remaining milk to the saucepan and heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly to avoid scorching, about 5 minutes.
- Once the milk is warm, add the sugar and stir until fully dissolved, about 1–2 minutes.
- Continue cooking and stirring for 5–7 minutes, until the mixture thickens to a creamy consistency.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the rose or orange blossom water and ground cinnamon.
- Ladle the sahlab into serving cups or bowls while still warm.
- Top each serving with chopped nuts and a sprinkle of additional ground cinnamon.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the warm, velvety texture of your homemade sahlab.
Notes
For an authentic flavor, use real sahlab powder if available. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently with a splash of milk.
