Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1.5 ounces light or dark rum
  • 4 to 5 ounces cola
  • 4 to 6 large ice cubes or crushed ice
  • 1 fresh lime wedge
  • Pinch of sea salt optional

Equipment

  • Highball or rocks glass (10 to 12 ounces)
  • Jigger or measuring spoon
  • Bar spoon or long mixing spoon
  • Ice scoop or small spoon
  • Cutting board and sharp knife
  • Cocktail strainer (optional)

Method
 

  1. Fill a highball glass three-quarters full with large ice cubes.
  2. Measure and pour 1.5 ounces of rum over the ice.
  3. Slowly pour 4 to 5 ounces of cola into the glass, tilting to reduce fizz.
  4. Stir gently with a bar spoon for 5 to 10 seconds to combine.
  5. Cut a fresh lime into a wedge and hold over the glass.
  6. Squeeze the lime wedge to release juice, then drop it into the drink.
  7. Taste and adjust by adding more lime, rum, or cola if desired.
  8. Serve immediately while chilled and enjoy.
