Ingredients

Main
  • 3 ounces prosecco or sparkling white wine
  • 1.5 ounces rose liqueur such as Luxardo Maraschino or a dedicated rose liqueur
  • 2 ounces sparkling water or soda water
  • 4 to 6 ice cubes
  • 2 to 3 fresh rose petals optional, for garnish
  • 1 lemon wheel or twist optional, for garnish

Equipment

  • Chilled cocktail glass or wine glass
  • Jigger or measuring glass
  • Bar spoon or long mixing spoon
  • Bottle of prosecco or sparkling white wine
  • Ice cubes
  • Cocktail strainer (optional)

Method

  1. Fill the cocktail glass three-quarters full with fresh ice and a splash of cold water, then let sit for 1 minute to chill the glass.
  2. Discard the ice and water, leaving the glass chilled.
  3. Add 4 to 6 fresh ice cubes to the chilled glass, filling it about two-thirds full.
  4. Measure and pour 1.5 ounces rose liqueur over the ice.
  5. Pour 3 ounces chilled prosecco or sparkling white wine into the glass, tilting to preserve carbonation.
  6. Top with 2 ounces sparkling water or soda water, filling close to the rim.
  7. Stir gently with a bar spoon in a circular motion for 10 to 15 seconds to combine ingredients without losing fizz.
  8. Garnish with 2 to 3 fresh rose petals or a lemon wheel and serve immediately.

Notes

Chill all ingredients in the freezer for 15 minutes before mixing to keep the drink cold longer and reduce dilution.
