  • 1.5 ounces gin
  • 0.75 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 ounces grenadine syrup
  • 0.25 ounces simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon wheel or twist for garnish

Method
 

  1. Chill your cocktail shaker or mixing glass by filling it with ice and letting it sit for about 30 seconds, then discard the ice.
  2. Juice fresh lemon and lime to measure 0.75 ounces of lemon juice and 0.5 ounces of lime juice, straining out pulp.
  3. Add fresh ice cubes to the shaker, filling it about three-quarters full.
  4. Measure and pour 1.5 ounces of gin into the shaker.
  5. Add 0.75 ounces fresh lemon juice and 0.5 ounces fresh lime juice to the shaker.
  6. Pour in 0.5 ounces grenadine syrup and 0.25 ounces simple syrup.
  7. Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters to the mixture.
  8. Shake vigorously for about 10 to 12 seconds until the shaker exterior is frosty and the drink is well chilled and diluted.
  9. Strain the cocktail into a chilled cocktail or rocks glass filled with fresh ice using a strainer to remove any small ice chips.
  10. Garnish with a lemon wheel or twist by expressing the citrus oils over the drink and placing it on the rim.

Notes

Always use freshly squeezed citrus juice and chill your glass before pouring for best flavor and presentation.
