Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • 0.75 oz raspberry liqueur such as Chambord or Framboise
  • 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • 2 oz sparkling water or prosecco
  • Ice fresh, high-quality cubes
  • Fresh raspberry or lemon wheel for garnish

  • Cocktail shaker (or jar with a tight-fitting lid)
  • Jigger or measuring cup for accurate pours
  • Strainer (fine-mesh or hawthorne style)
  • Bar spoon or long mixing spoon
  • Coupe glass or martini glass
  • Knife for garnish cutting
  • Cutting board for garnish prep

Method
 

  1. Chill your glass by filling your coupe or martini glass with ice and cold water, then set it aside.
  2. Using a jigger, pour 1.5 oz of vodka and 0.75 oz of raspberry liqueur into the cocktail shaker.
  3. Squeeze 0.5 oz of fresh lemon juice into the shaker and add 0.5 oz of simple syrup.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice cubes until it is about halfway full.
  5. Cap the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds.
  6. Empty the ice and water from your chilled glass.
  7. Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass using a fine-mesh strainer.
  8. Gently pour 2 oz of sparkling water or prosecco over the top of the drink.
  9. Drop a fresh raspberry or a thin lemon wheel into the glass as a garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve immediately while the bubbles are still active and the drink is properly cold.
