  • 2 cups brewed coffee
  • 1 cup milk any kind
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Candy canes crushed, for garnish

Method
 

  1. Brew 2 cups of coffee using a coffee maker or French press according to your preference.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of milk over medium-low heat for about 2–3 minutes until warm and slightly frothy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of sugar until evenly combined.
  4. Pour the brewed coffee into the saucepan with the warmed milk and stir in the cocoa-sugar mixture until fully dissolved.
  5. Add 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract to the mixture and stir briefly to incorporate.
  6. Use a whisk to froth the coffee mixture directly in the saucepan for 30 seconds, creating a light foam.
  7. Divide the peppermint mocha coffee between mugs.
  8. Top each mug with whipped cream and sprinkle crushed candy canes on top before serving.

Notes

Drizzle chocolate syrup over the whipped cream for extra indulgence.
