Method
- Chill the glass by filling a rocks or coupe glass with ice and letting it sit while you prepare the drink.
- Prepare the salt rim by dampening sea salt on a plate with lime juice and coating the outside rim of the chilled glass evenly, then discard the ice.
- Add 1 cup of cubed ice to the cocktail shaker until it is roughly half full.
- Measure and pour 2 ounces of Patron Silver Tequila into the ice-filled shaker.
- Add 0.5 ounces of Cointreau or triple sec to the shaker.
- Add 1 ounce of fresh lime juice and 0.5 ounces of simple syrup to the shaker.
- Shake the mixture vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
- Strain the margarita into the prepared glass, leaving the ice in the shaker.
- Garnish with a fresh lime wheel on the rim and serve immediately.
