Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup mixed raw nuts almonds, cashews, walnuts, or pecans
  • 1.5 cups frozen mixed berries blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey optional, for sweetness
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Ice cubes optional, for extra thickness

Equipment

  • High-powered blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Tall drinking glasses
  • Spoon for stirring (optional)
  • Cutting board (if using fresh berries)

Method

  1. Pour one cup of raw mixed nuts into your measuring cup, using whatever combination appeals to you.
  2. Place the measured nuts directly into your blender pitcher first.
  3. Run your blender on high speed for about 30 seconds until the nuts break down into a fine powder or coarse flour.
  4. Pour in 1.5 cups of frozen mixed berries directly onto the nut powder.
  5. Add one cup of unsweetened almond milk to the blender.
  6. Spoon in the half cup of Greek yogurt, add the vanilla extract, and sprinkle in a pinch of sea salt.
  7. Blend on high speed for 60 to 90 seconds until the mixture reaches a completely smooth, creamy consistency with no visible nut chunks.
  8. Pour a small taste into a cup and sip it before serving. If the natural sweetness from the berries isn't enough for your preference, add the optional tablespoon of raw honey and blend for another 10 seconds.
  9. Divide the drink evenly between two glasses and serve immediately for the best texture and temperature.

Notes

Blend the nuts to a powder before adding liquid for a silky, luxurious texture. Keep nuts in the freezer to preserve freshness. The drink stays fresh for a few hours refrigerated, but tastes best within an hour of blending. Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 24 hours or frozen in popsicle molds for up to three months.
