  • 3/4 cup premium silver tequila
  • 1/2 cup triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1/2 cup simple syrup or agave nectar
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt to balance flavors
  • Ice cubes as needed to fill the Creami container
  • Coarse salt for rimming
  • Lime wheels for garnish

Equipment

  • Ninja Creami frozen drink maker
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Liquid measuring cup
  • Mixing bowl or pitcher
  • Whisk or spoon for stirring
  • Freezer-safe container with lid that fits the Creami
  • Shallow dish for rimming glasses with salt
  • Lime for garnish and juice

Method

  1. Step 1: Juice fresh limes until you have 1 cup of lime juice and fresh oranges until you have 1/2 cup of orange juice.
  2. Step 2: In a mixing bowl or pitcher, combine the lime juice, orange juice, tequila, triple sec, simple syrup, and salt, then stir until well blended.
  3. Step 3: Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe Creami container and add ice cubes up to the fill line.
  4. Step 4: Freeze the mixture for at least 6 hours or overnight to ensure it is fully solid.
  5. Step 5: Remove the container from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the edges.
  6. Step 6: Place the frozen container into the Ninja Creami machine and secure it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  7. Step 7: Select the 'Sorbet' or 'Slushi' texture setting and run the machine for 3 to 5 minutes until it becomes a smooth frozen slushy.
  8. Step 8: Pour the finished margarita into salt-rimmed glasses, garnish with lime wheels, and serve immediately.

Notes

Chill your serving glasses before pouring and adjust sweetness or alcohol strength to taste.
