Ingredients

Main
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger sliced
  • 1 lemon juiced and zested
  • 2 tablespoons honey or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1-2 bags of green tea or herbal tea of your choice

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Strainer or tea infuser
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Teapot or heatproof pitcher

Method

  1. Start by bringing 4 cups of water to a boil in your medium saucepan.
  2. Once the water is boiling, add the sliced fresh ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, and black pepper.
  3. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice and zest for a refreshing brightness.
  5. Add honey to taste, stirring until dissolved.
  6. If using tea bags, add them now and steep for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  7. Carefully strain the tea into a teapot or heatproof pitcher using a fine mesh strainer.
  8. Pour the tea into cups and enjoy it warm, or let it cool and serve it over ice.

Notes

For a stronger ginger flavor, let it simmer longer or add more slices. Adjust sweetness based on your taste preference.
