Ingredients

Main
  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 lime cut into 4 wedges
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 1/2 ounces white rum
  • 1/2 cup club soda
  • Extra mint sprigs for garnish

Equipment

  • Highball glass
  • Muddler
  • Stirring spoon
  • Measuring jigger

Method

  1. In your highball glass, add the fresh mint leaves. Gently muddle them with the back of your muddler to release their oils without tearing them apart.
  2. Next, add the lime wedges to the glass. Muddle them gently with the mint to release the juice and mix the flavors.
  3. Sprinkle the sugar over the muddled mint and lime.
  4. Fill the glass with ice cubes to the brim.
  5. Measure and pour in the white rum.
  6. Top off the drink with club soda.
  7. Using your stirring spoon, gently mix the ingredients together.
  8. Add a sprig of mint for garnish. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing taste!

Notes

Always use fresh mint for the best flavor; it makes all the difference.
