Method
- Fill your kettle with filtered water and bring it to a boil, then let it cool for about one minute to reach around 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place both your chamomile and Peach Tranquility tea bags into your 16-ounce mug. If you're using loose tea instead of bags, add the leaves to a tea infuser and place it in the mug.
- Carefully pour 8 ounces of the hot water over the tea bags, filling the mug about halfway.
- Let the tea bags steep for 3 to 4 minutes without moving or squeezing them.
- Gently remove both tea bags from the mug and discard them. If using a tea infuser, lift it out carefully to avoid any loose leaves floating in your drink.
- While the tea is still hot, squeeze fresh lemon juice into a small container and measure out about 0.5 ounces.
- Pour the fresh lemon juice directly into your steeped tea and stir gently to combine.
- Add 1 tablespoon of honey to the warm tea and stir until it dissolves completely.
- If you prefer a less concentrated drink or want to fill your cup closer to the brim, add a splash of hot water now.
- Take a sip and adjust the sweetness or lemon intensity to match your taste. If it's too strong, add more hot water; if you want it sweeter, stir in a tiny bit more honey.
Notes
Fresh lemon juice is non-negotiable for this recipe because bottled juice tastes dull and acidic by comparison, while fresh juice adds brightness and complexity that makes the drink taste exactly like Starbucks' version. Buy your Peach Tranquility tea online or in bulk at Starbucks because the flavor is irreplaceable and this drink isn't the same without it.
