Ingredients

Main
  • 0.5 ounces vodka
  • 0.5 ounces light rum
  • 0.5 ounces gin
  • 0.5 ounces triple sec
  • 0.5 ounces tequila
  • 0.75 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 1 ounce cranberry juice
  • 1 ounce pineapple juice
  • 0.5 ounces simple syrup
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 0.5 ounces club soda or ginger ale
  • 1 lime wheel for garnish
  • Sea salt and sugar mixture for rimming optional

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring spoon
  • Bar spoon or long mixing spoon
  • Highball or tall glass (12 to 14 ounces)
  • Strainer
  • Citrus juicer
  • Cutting board and knife

Method

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice and set it aside for one minute while you prep other ingredients.
  2. Using a jigger, carefully measure out 0.5 ounces each of vodka, light rum, gin, triple sec, and tequila into a cocktail shaker.
  3. Pour 0.75 ounces of fresh lemon juice, 1 ounce of cranberry juice, and 1 ounce of pineapple juice into the shaker with your spirits.
  4. Measure 0.5 ounces of simple syrup into the shaker.
  5. Add about 1 cup of ice cubes to the shaker, filling it roughly three-quarters full.
  6. Close the shaker and shake hard for 10 to 12 seconds, until the outside becomes frosty and cold to the touch.
  7. Dump the melted ice from your chilled glass and refill it with fresh ice cubes.
  8. Using a strainer, pour the shaken mixture into your prepared glass, stopping just short of the rim.
  9. Add a splash of club soda or ginger ale, about 0.5 ounces, to top the drink.
  10. Place a lime wheel on the rim or drop it into the drink, then serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

Pre-batch this drink for parties by multiplying all ingredient amounts by the number of servings you need, mixing everything except the club soda in a pitcher, and refrigerating until guests arrive. Just add fresh ice and a splash of soda to each glass right before serving. Always use freshly squeezed lemon juice rather than bottled for best flavor. Store pre-mixed cocktail (without ice or soda) in refrigerator for up to 8 hours.
