Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 ounces vodka chilled
  • 1 ounce limoncello chilled
  • 0.5 ounce fresh lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.25 ounce dry vermouth optional but recommended
  • Ice cubes for chilling and stirring
  • Lemon twist or wheel for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Bar spoon or long spoon for stirring
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Jigger or shot glass for measuring
  • Coupe glass or martini glass
  • Ice cubes

Method
 

  1. Chill a coupe glass or martini glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Add a generous amount of ice cubes to a cocktail shaker or mixing glass.
  3. Measure and pour 2 ounces of chilled vodka over the ice.
  4. Measure and add 1 ounce of chilled limoncello to the shaker.
  5. Measure and add 0.5 ounce of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  6. Measure and add 0.25 ounce of dry vermouth, if using.
  7. Stir the mixture vigorously for 30 seconds to chill and dilute.
  8. Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass using a cocktail strainer.
  9. Express lemon oils over the drink and garnish with a lemon twist or wheel, then serve immediately.

Notes

Serve the limoncello martini immediately to preserve the bright citrus flavor and silky texture.
