  • 1 medium lemon freshly squeezed
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 cup cold water
  • Ice cubes optional
  • Lemon slice for garnish, optional

Method
 

  1. Cut the lemon in half and use a juicer or citrus squeezer to extract the juice.
  2. Measure out approximately 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, adjusting for preferred tartness.
  3. In the glass, combine the lemon juice and sugar, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Pour in 1 cup of cold water and stir thoroughly to blend.
  5. Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness or lemon juice as desired.
  6. If desired, add ice cubes to chill the drink.
  7. Garnish the rim of the glass with a lemon slice for extra flair.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing homemade lemonade.

Notes

Adjust the sugar to your taste and try adding fresh mint or a splash of fruit puree for variation.
