Method
- Cut lemons and limes in half and juice them to yield 1 1/2 cups lemon juice and 1/2 cup lime juice.
- Pour the juice through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl to remove seeds and pulp, if desired.
- In a large pitcher, combine 4 cups cold water and 3/4 cup granulated sugar; stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Stir the strained lemon and lime juices into the sugar water and taste, adding more sugar if needed.
- Cover the pitcher and refrigerate the base for at least 30 minutes to chill.
- While chilling, slice strawberries and lemons and gently tear mint leaves.
- Just before serving, add 2 cups chilled sparkling water to the pitcher and stir gently to preserve fizz.
- Transfer the punch to a serving bowl or back into the pitcher, add lemon slices, strawberries, mint leaves, and ice.
Notes
Freeze fruit slices in an ice mold to create a decorative ice ring that chills the punch without diluting it.
