Ingredients

Main
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried culinary lavender
  • 4 ounces hot water about 175°F
  • 6 ounces milk of choice dairy, almond, oat, or coconut
  • 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup optional
  • Pinch of sea salt

Equipment

  • Small saucepan or milk frother
  • Bamboo matcha whisk or small wire whisk
  • Small bowl for whisking matcha
  • Measuring spoons
  • Mug
  • Spoon for stirring

Method

  1. Measure 1 teaspoon matcha powder and 1/2 teaspoon dried culinary lavender into a small bowl.
  2. Pour 4 ounces of hot water (about 175°F) over the matcha and lavender mixture.
  3. Whisk vigorously for about 30 seconds until smooth and bright green, ensuring no lumps remain.
  4. Strain the matcha and lavender mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into your mug, discarding any solids.
  5. Heat 6 ounces of milk in a small saucepan or milk frother until steaming (about 60 seconds), but not boiling.
  6. Froth the hot milk until a light layer of foam forms on top (optional but recommended).
  7. Slowly pour the steamed milk into the mug with the strained matcha, stirring gently to combine.
  8. Stir in 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup and a pinch of sea salt, tasting and adjusting sweetness as desired.

Notes

Best enjoyed immediately while hot; customize milk type and sweetness to taste.
