Ingredients
  

Main
  • 6 ounces vodka
  • 2 ounces fresh key lime juice
  • 2 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • Pinch lime zest for garnish
  • Ice as needed

  • Shot glasses (1.5 ounce capacity)
  • Jigger or measuring shot glass
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Bar spoon or long spoon
  • Juicer or citrus press
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • small bowl

Method
 

  1. Juice fresh key limes to extract at least 2 ounces of juice.
  2. Strain the juice through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl.
  3. Measure 6 ounces vodka, 2 ounces key lime juice, and 2 ounces condensed milk using a jigger.
  4. Fill a cocktail shaker three-quarters full with ice.
  5. Add vodka, key lime juice, and condensed milk to the shaker.
  6. Shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until well emulsified and chilled.
  7. Chill shot glasses in the freezer for at least 2 minutes.
  8. Strain the mixture into the chilled shot glasses through a fine strainer.
  9. Garnish each shot with a pinch of lime zest.

Notes

Serve immediately and enjoy within 5 minutes of shaking to maintain texture.
