Ingredients

Main
  • 4 large oranges peeled and halved
  • 2 large lemons peeled and halved
  • 1 piece fresh ginger about 2 inches long, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 small apple cored and quartered
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Filtered water optional

Equipment

  • Cold-press juicer or centrifugal juicer
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp chef's knife
  • Measuring spoons
  • Tall drinking glasses
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Fine mesh strainer (optional)

Method

  1. Wash the oranges and lemons under cold running water to remove any dirt or residue.
  2. Peel the oranges and lemons completely to avoid bitterness from the pith.
  3. Cut each peeled orange and lemon in half to fit into the juicer chute.
  4. Roughly chop the fresh ginger into smaller pieces; no need to peel the skin.
  5. Core and quarter the apple, removing seeds and the tough core.
  6. Set up the juicer on a stable surface and position a glass or pitcher under the spout.
  7. Feed the orange and lemon halves into the juicer first to help clear the machine.
  8. Alternate feeding apple pieces and ginger chunks into the juicer to maintain smooth operation.
  9. Pour the juice into glasses and stir in the turmeric powder and a pinch of black pepper until fully dissolved.
  10. Serve immediately for best flavor and nutrient retention, or chill briefly before drinking.

Notes

Consume fresh within 15 minutes for maximum vitamin content. Store any leftover juice in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.
