Method
- Step 1: Pour 2 ounces of silver tequila, 1/2 ounce of triple sec, and 1/2 ounce of simple syrup into a cocktail shaker.
- Step 2: Squeeze 1 ounce of fresh lime juice directly into the shaker.
- Step 3: Add 1/2 cup of fresh or frozen huckleberries to the shaker.
- Step 4: Gently muddle the berries for 10 to 15 seconds, releasing their juice without crushing the seeds.
- Step 5: Add 1 cup of ice (crushed or cubed) to the shaker.
- Step 6: Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds to chill and combine the ingredients.
- Step 7: Moisten the rim of a margarita or rocks glass with a lime wheel and dip it into salt to rim the glass, if desired.
- Step 8: Strain the margarita into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice using a cocktail strainer.
- Step 9: Garnish with a fresh lime wheel or a skewer of huckleberries and serve immediately.
Notes
Chill your glass in the freezer for 5 minutes before making the drink so it stays cold longer and your ice melts more slowly.
