Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 ounces espresso double shot
  • 1 to 1.5 tablespoons raw or pasteurized honey
  • 8 to 10 ounces whole milk or milk of choice
  • 1 pinch sea salt or kosher salt optional

Equipment

  • Espresso machine or moka pot
  • Milk frother or steam wand
  • 12-ounce coffee mug or cup
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Measuring spoon
  • Thermometer (optional)

Method
 

  1. Pour 8 to 10 ounces of cold milk into the frother or a metal pitcher and heat to 150 to 155°F, about 2 minutes.
  2. Froth or steam the milk until it doubles in volume and reaches 150 to 155°F, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Pull a double shot of espresso (2 ounces) into your mug, pulling for 25 to 30 seconds.
  4. Add 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of honey to the hot espresso and stir for 10 to 15 seconds until fully dissolved.
  5. Add a pinch of salt if using and stir briefly to combine.
  6. Pour the steamed milk into the mug slowly, holding back the foam, then spoon the remaining foam on top to finish.

Notes

Serve immediately while hot, with an optional pinch of cinnamon on top for garnish.
