  • 1 teaspoon loose green tea or 1 green tea bag
  • 4 ounces whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey or sugar adjust to taste
  • Pinch of salt optional

Method
 

  1. Heat 8 ounces of water in a teapot or small saucepan over medium heat until it reaches 160-170°F (about 2-3 minutes).
  2. Place 1 teaspoon of loose green tea into an infuser basket or teapot, or add 1 green tea bag to your brewing vessel.
  3. Pour the hot water over the tea leaves or bag slowly to ensure even saturation.
  4. Let the tea steep for 3 to 4 minutes, then remove the leaves or tea bag.
  5. Pour the brewed green tea into a mug or glass to filter out any small particles.
  6. Stir 1 tablespoon of honey or sugar into the hot tea until fully dissolved.
  7. Warm 4 ounces of whole milk in a small saucepan or microwave until steaming but not boiling (about 1-2 minutes).
  8. Slowly pour the warm milk into the tea while stirring gently to combine and achieve a uniform pale jade color.
  9. Add a pinch of salt if desired and stir gently to incorporate.

Notes

Serve immediately for best flavor and texture; leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated gently.
