Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh spinach or kale loosely packed
  • 1 ripe banana peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 3/4 cup Greek yogurt plain unsweetened
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter or peanut butter
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey or maple syrup optional

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Two drinking glasses
  • Cutting board
  • Small knife
  • Spoon for stirring

Method
 

  1. Add 2 cups of fresh spinach or kale into the blender.
  2. Pour 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk over the greens.
  3. Add the sliced banana and 1 cup of frozen mango chunks.
  4. Add 3/4 cup of plain Greek yogurt to the blender.
  5. Add 1 tablespoon of almond butter or peanut butter.
  6. Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of raw honey or maple syrup if using.
  7. Add 1/2 cup of ice cubes to the blender.
  8. Blend on high for 45 to 60 seconds until smooth with no visible chunks.
  9. Pour the smoothie evenly into two glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve immediately for best flavor and nutrition. Prep freezer packs of spinach, banana, and mango for a grab-and-go breakfast.
