Main
  • 1 cup whole milk or preferred milk alternative
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 tablespoon unsulphured molasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup adjust to taste
  • Pinch of sea salt

Method
 

  1. Measure out ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom in a small bowl.
  2. Pour milk into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until steaming and just bubbling around the edges, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. While whisking constantly, sprinkle in the spice blend and continue whisking for 30 seconds to disperse evenly.
  4. Add molasses and whisk gently for another 30 seconds until fully integrated.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and honey or maple syrup, whisking to combine.
  6. Add a pinch of sea salt and whisk one final time to enhance the flavors.
  7. Pour the latte into a mug, allow it to settle for a moment, and serve immediately.
  8. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice level as desired by adding more honey or a sprinkle of extra ginger.

Notes

Serve immediately while still steaming for best flavor and texture. Adjust sweetness and spice intensity to taste.
